Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland won the Brussels Open defeating Simona Halep of Romania 7-5 6-0. Halep played well but got tight serving for the first set in the tenth game. Agnieszka broke Halep’s serve and cruised to victory she continues to rise in the WTA tour rankings to career high of number three. I love Agnieszka’s game because she changes the speed of the tennis ball by using slice, angles, drop shots, and lobs. Agnieszka has improved from a ranking of number eight in the world in January 2012 and now she is number three.
Agnieszka also won her her third WTA tour title of 2012 and the tenth of her career. I am very impressed with Agnieszka she doesn’t have the power game of the other top women but she is very smart. I want to see Agnieszka have a breakthrough in a grand slam it is time for her to win a major event! The one area of Agnieszka’s game I want her to improve is her second serve. Victoria Azarenka has dominated Agnieszka this year defeating her six times in a row because she just attacks her serve. Agnieszka will need to become more aggressive in the grand slam events if she wants to advance in her career. It is surprising to me that Agnieszka has not reached a grand slam final yet but I believe she will.
